Harmony is the intentional hero in this dining room. Harmony in all the finishes, with mahogany tones used resolutely in the furniture, flooring and the fixtures.
Keeping it low key on clutter, with just a few well heeled pieces on show, your eyes can savour each charming object one by one.
The hand-painted wall mural, by Natasha Baradaran’s firm reminds me of the classic de Gournay, Chinoiserie style that has been very popular with designers over the years. When the last guest has departed, the birds look poised to nest on the wafting curtain.
The arresting solidness of the round dining table plays well with the classic dining chairs. The matching side board holding the sculpture gives the grouped vases poise. The breezy, 1970’s inspired glass chandelier offers a little frothiness that stops the room from taking itself too seriously.
Designer Natasha Baradaran has created a delightfully refined room.
